For a young Mum of two

Request sent via my Mother...

"Becky is a young mom of two girls and is fighting cystic fibrosis. She is currently on the ventilator in the ICU, hoping to become stable enough to transfer to Minnesota to get a new pair of lungs. She is located in Omaha, Nebraska.  She needs all the prayers she can get! Thank you."

Please pray for Fr Tom Feehan

I have just found out that one of my sister's Parish Priests, Fr Tom Feehan, who is well into his 80's had a stroke last Sunday.  He is currently under the care of the Specialist Stroke Unit in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, but he is bound and determined to get better so he can say Mass again.

Please also pray for Father Willy, who is coping with the Parish all by himself.

Thank you.

For Dorothy and Stanley

Dorothy and Stanley are friends and colleagues of my sister.

Stanley is having knee replacement surgery shortly, and Dorothy is about to begin chemotherapy for cancer of the spleen, liver and lung.  Dorothy has had health challenges in the past, including having part of her colon removed five years ago.

Lets hope they both come through this difficult time!

For Austin...

Austin is a family friend of ours.  He is a Vet, and used to look after our beastie when Mum and Dad lived in Lancashire.  He has a young family and was recently diagnosed with a very nasty cancer.  He has had some dramatic surgery and is currently recovering.

He needs as much help and support as he can get at the moment.  For his swift recovery, back to his new normality.

Thy will be done.

For my sister...

My sister called me the other day and started telling me about her current housing situation.  She rents in London and the agency she deals with want to hike up her rent.  My sister can't afford that rent hike.  But she really loves the flat she is in and the part of town she is in too.  She has started to organise letters to her landlady who lives in Hong Kong and is looking at alternatives, but to be honest, she can't afford to move either.  So, what we need is either a windfall so she can stay where she is, or some kind of alternative so she can stay in the area (and move cheaply!) or that the landlady/agent sees sense and stops demanding high rent on an apartment which hasn't been redecorated in 8 or possibly 9 years.

Thy will be done.

Things to be grateful for...

I have so many things to be grateful for, and yet, sometimes I completely forget about them and just whine instead.  Well, it is time to correct that.

1.  I am grateful for my health.  Yes I have those niggly things that annoy me, but I am capable of moving and working and singing, and that is more than enough to be grateful for.

2.  I am grateful I have a job.  So many people do not have a job, and I am lucky that I do.

3.  My husband.  How he puts up with me, I will never know, but he does, and I love him and I am terribly grateful for that.

4.  I am grateful for the weather.  It is never boring in the UK!  We can get 4 seasons in one day...and usually get wet at some point!

5.  The homeopath I am going to.  I don't know how she does what she does, but man, it works!!  I haven't had so much energy in years.

6.  Memorygirl and her challenges.  This is an amazingly positive thing I am involved in at the moment.  Here is a link to her blog...and the Mr Big Challenges.  It is astounding how much I am getting out of this at the moment.  Go here http://memorygirlandfriends.blogspot.com/2010/09/golden-rolodex-challenge.html to fin out more and join in!

7.  The fact I am finally getting on with my professional portfolio so that I can FINALLY put the letters after my name that all those darned exams were for!!  I am really cracking on with that now.

8.  My animals.  They do give me such love.  Though because they are cats, it is definitely conditional!!  And I am grateful for that as well.  I think.

9.  I have friends who have joined this blog.  Thanks to all of you!

Now... over to you lot...!  What are some of the things YOU are grateful for?

Welcome to an International Prayer and Positive Thought Group...

For many years, when someone has asked me to pray for them, I have often replied "why, yes, of course I will, and I will put your intention to the Hallelujah Hotline".  This has been my joke, a kind of hotline to God to answer your petitions.  In fact, I would scamper round the internet to find various different websites to post intentions and ask people to pray or to think postively for these people.

Well, I have now decided to put a proper Hotline together.  Instead of me posting petitions on behalf of others to different sites, I want to have this site for everyone to come to and post their own.  However, there are a few rules.

1.   Everyone is most welcome to be here, whether you have faith, or whether you have none.  Please be respectful of everyone who might post here.

2.  This is not a place for evangelisation in different faiths.  I will respect everyone's beliefs, and I hope you would do the same.

3.  I believe in the power of prayer and the power of positive thought.  To my mind they are one and the same thing.  If you want to place a petition for a positive outcome instead of a prayer, please, be my guest.

4.  If your prayer has been answered, please, post your thanks.  Be that to God, or to the Universe.

5.  I do not have, nor do I claim to have, a particular "hotline" to God or the Universe.  I just have lots of friends who I know will help others by thinking about them and hoping and praying along with them.
